Sally Lane

Senior Care Assistant

I was born in Holyport. My mother was head of a care home in Maidenhead and all my aunts worked in the care industry and my cousins still work in care. It obviously runs in the family! I used to look after my Dad who was struck with Polio and was wheelchair bound from the age of 29 until he passed, so care became a real passion for me since then and I have not looked back.

I have worked in care on and off since I was at school on day release. My friend and I went to Larchfield home and did the Activities on a Wednesday afternoon. We also did elderly people’s gardens and shopping or sitting chatting to give some company and this was regulated at Altwood school.

I love caring and i am so interested in the history of the customers. I would like to think that I would get the loving care that i give when my time comes.

I love to dance I am learning Spanish and visual learning for the Deaf. I am joining my old Maidenhead Town bowls green as I was a County Player and Secretary for the club.
I also practise Aromatherapy massage with essential oils.
